Job Description
|
General Purpose
Under the general supervision of an administrative superior, performs working level specialized work requiring advanced knowledge of interrelated departmental work and procedures.
|
Example of Duties:
(Any one position may not include all of the duties listed nor do the listed examples include all of the duties which may be found in positions of this class). Schedules clients for clinics; counsels clients and participates in education sessions; prepares clients for physical examinations, performs simple lab tests, blood pressure clinics, etc., records medical information. Receives fees for services rendered; receives payments in the form of cash, checks and credit cards; reconciles money, checks and credit card receipts after each clinic and makes bank deposits. Processes reports, forms, applications, or other materials; examines for accuracy and completeness; makes additions or resolves discrepancies by consulting with supervisor or other employees as needed. Fills in data on office forms; maintains records, files, indexes, and registers according to established methods and procedures; complies and tabulates data for records and reports, enters data on computer, checks and orders supplies. Receives telephone calls, handling matters of a technical or routine nature or directing to the appropriate staff member; assists clients in filling out forms and applications as required. Operates projectors and other office equipment. Operates a motor vehicle in a safe manner and in compliance with all Utah laws and regulations. Performs related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
High school graduation and two (2) years of closely related full-time experience; or an acceptable combination of education and experience. Preference for fluency in Spanish and English (fluency defined as proficiency level in both languages as evidenced by the ability to verbally interpret from English-to-Spanish and from Spanish-to-English, as well as the ability to translate written documents from English-to-Spanish and from Spanish-to-English).

Special Qualifications:
Employees driving a personal vehicle while on county business must maintain the minimum vehicle liability insurance as specified in the Utah Code.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge of office and clinic practices and procedures. Keyboarding skills as required by the position. This position may require the driving of a motor vehicle; skill in operating a motor vehicle in a safe manner; ability to insure motor vehicle is operating in a safe manner; knowledge of Utah motor vehicle rules and regulations. Ability to: receive cash payments and make change; perform basic math computations; operate computer hardware and applicable software applications; establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, other county employees, patients and the general public; communicate effectively (orally and in writing); follow written and oral instructions.

Important Information:
Davis County is a drug-free workplace. All successful applicants for positions in the County must successfully pass a drug screen prior to employment. Position may be underfilled as a Human Service Aide I depending on number of qualified applicants. Proof of automobile insurance and a current Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) required with application; applicants can obtain an MVR through the State Driver’s License Division or through the Personnel Office.

- Proof of Automobile Insurance
Proof of current automobile insurance is required with application. Proof of insurance can be a photocopy of insurance card or policy. Proof of insurance must include the applicant's name, insurance company name, and current policy period.
