Job Description
|
General Purpose
Under general supervision of the Senior Center Coordinator, performs routine tasks in meal pick-up, delivery, and set-up, for meal services at a senior activity center.
|
Example of Duties:
(Any one position does not include all of the duties listed; nor do the listed examples include all duties which may be found in positions of this class). Travels to designated location to pick-up meals; monitors food temperature to ensure meals are maintained at required temperature levels. Complies with food health and safety codes, rules, and regulations. Delivers meals to senior activity center; assists with meal set-up; serves meals to clients in a friendly, professional and efficient manner; assists with clean-up. Cleans and fuels vehicle; informs appropriate staff of needed maintenance and repairs on van; maintains cleanliness within the vehicle; responsible for preventative maintenance on vehicles; keeps records of vehicle mileage. Performs other related duties as assigned. Operates a motor vehicle in a safe manner and in compliance with all Utah laws and regulations. Performs related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
No minimum education or experience required. Preference given for customer service and/or food service experience.

Special Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age. Must pass a BCI/NCIC background investigation. Must possess a valid Davis County Food Handler Permit or obtain one immediately upon hire. Must possess a valid Utah Driver’s License or obtain one immediately upon hire. Employees driving a personal vehicle while on county business must maintain the minimum vehicle liability insurance as specified in the Utah Code. Provide personal transportation for on-the-job travel.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge of: proper food storage and preservation practices; proper food handling sanitation and safety; department policies and procedures; health codes, rules, and regulations related to food service. This position may require the driving of a motor vehicle; skill in operating a motor vehicle in a safe manner; ability to insure motor vehicle is operating in a safe manner; knowledge of Utah motor vehicle rules and regulations. Ability to: properly use kitchen utensils and equipment; maintain a sanitary and efficient food preparation/service area according to all County health regulations; lift, carry, and otherwise move objects weighing at least 75 lbs.; work sustained periods of standing, walking, lifting, and continuous movement; communicate effectively (verbally and in writing); safely operate a motor vehicle; follow written and oral instructions; establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, other employees, site volunteers, patrons, and the public.

Important Information:
Davis County is a drug-free workplace. All successful applicants for positions in the County must successfully pass a drug screen prior to employment. Must possess a valid Davis County Food Handler Permit or obtain one immediately upon hire. Hours: Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Current Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) and proof of automobile insurance required with application; MVR can be obtained through Davis County Personnel or the Utah Drivers License Division.

Applicants must pass a Bureau of Criminal Identification (BCI) and National Criminal Identification Computer (NCIC) background investigation.
- Davis County Food Handler's Permit
Must possess or obtain immediately upon hiring a current Davis County Food Handler's Permit.

- Motor Vehicle Report
An official and current Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) is required and must be submitted with your application in order to be considered for this position. An MVR can be obtained either from the State Drivers License Division, or the Davis County Personnel Office can obtain an MVR for you (Utah only). - Proof of Automobile Insurance
Proof of current automobile insurance is required with application. Proof of insurance can be a photocopy of insurance card or policy. Proof of insurance must include the applicant's name, insurance company name, and current policy period.
