Works at various Davis County Health Clinics and Outreach Events for immunizations and COVID-19 tests in outdoor and indoor environments. Will great and screen visitors. Provides customer service and clerical, program, testing and immunization support. Serves as the initial contact for clients and public, both in person and over-the-phone. Responsible for setup and take down at events.
COVID testing is conducted using a drive-through model and in all types of weather conditions. May require daily travel from one work site to another; may be required to work in uncomfortable conditions, i.e. hot, cold, aromatic, noisy and/or dirty. Position requires frequent exposure to the public with contagious or infectious diseases. PPE will be provided.
Example of Duties
Answers phone calls and provides clients with general Covid-19 information. Greets and screens arriving clients and verbally communicate visitor restrictions. Ask visitors and patients health screening questions. Schedules client registrations. Collects health information and ensures information is secure, confidential, and maintained consistent with Department and legal requirements. Maintains accuracy and complete reporting. Assists with correspondence and material distribution.
Provides general clerical support to the Division. Provides detailed information to the public regarding Division procedures. Accepts Division specific documents, assists customers in data gathering. Analyzes and maintains program reports, logs and lists. Types and proofreads documents and make appropriate corrections. Performs clerical functions effectively utilizing computers and software.
Responsible for events set-up/take-down including setting up tables, chairs, and other furniture or equipment. Interacts and communicates effectively with persons of all ages, abilities, socioeconomic status, education, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and lifestyles. Operates a motor vehicle in a safe manner and in compliance with all Utah laws and regulations. Performs related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: At least one (1) year of part-time or full-time work experience related to general clerical support or customer service practices. An acceptable combination of employment and education related to general clerical support or customer service practices.
- Fluency in both Spanish and English. Note: Fluency defined as proficiency in both languages as evidenced by the ability to verbally interpret and translate written documents from English to Spanish and from Spanish to English.
Must be 18 years or older.
Must furnish personal transportation for on-the-job travel; employees driving a personal vehicle while on county business must maintain the minimum vehicle liability insurance as specified in the Utah Code.
Must possess a valid driver license; new employees with an out-of-state license must obtain a valid Utah Driver License within sixty (60) days of hire date (exceptions for military personnel and their dependents).Must operate a motor vehicle in a safe manner and in compliance with all Utah laws and regulations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment. Keyboarding skills required. Ability to: perform routine and detailed clerical duties; follow written and oral instructions; make simple mathematical computations; establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, other employees, and the general public.
Required with application: Copy of Utah Driver License. Proof of automobile insurance and a current Utah MVR required at time of hire.

Work is typically performed directly with the public in clinics, schools, homes, and other locations within the community and may require daily travel from one work site to another; may be required to work in uncomfortable conditions, i.e. hot, cold, aromatic, noisy and/or dirty.
Position requires frequent exposure to the public with contagious or infectious diseases; interactions with angry, agitated and otherwise upset individuals; situations involving high-stress, confrontational, emotionally charged, or uncomfortable circumstances; exposure to hazardous chemicals. This position may require the use of a respirator - medical clearance, training, and fit testing will be provided.
Requires sitting and standing for long periods of time; performing repetitive motor tasks; regular walking, stooping, standing, bending, twisting, sitting, carrying, pushing, pulling as well as occasional lifting and/or otherwise moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds; use of tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity. Driving a motor vehicle; maintaining concentrated attention to detail, communicating via email and cellular phone is required.
