Bomb Technicians

Our Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) experts (Bomb Technicians) and equipment allow us to respond to incidents of bomb threats and/or harmful explosive devices in Davis, Weber, and Morgan counties. Response includes identifying the threat/device, detonating, rendering the situation safe, and properly disposing of harmful explosives.

Civil Process

Davis County Sheriff’s Office deputies have the authority and responsibility to provide Civil Process services (court/legal papers and orders) throughout Davis County. Fees for process service provided by Davis County Sheriff’s Office are governed by Utah Code, §17-22-2.5, and are assessed based on the type of civil process being provided plus mileage.

Cold Cases

Cold cases include homicides, missing persons, and unidentified deceased persons. Cold cases may involve multiple jurisdictions and are often solved via collaborative efforts of local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, as well as through tips provided by the public. Utah’s Cold Case database is managed by the Utah Department of Public Safety, Bureau of Criminal Identification: bci.utah.gov/coldcases.

The Davis County Sheriff’s Office Crime Lab responds to, and processes and collects evidence from, crime scenes within Davis County. Crime Lab technicians work closely with the State Crime Lab on evidence processing and analysis.

Davis Metro Narcotics Strike Force

Per state and federal laws, the Davis Metro Narcotics Strike Force investigates and prosecutes the illegal manufacture, importation, use, and distribution of controlled substances. The Strike Force collaborates with local, state, and federal agencies, and is governed by an Executive Board that includes the Sheriff and police chiefs from around Davis County, as well as a representative of the Davis County Attorney’s Office.

ICAC - Internet Crimes Against Children

The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) is a multi-jurisdictional task force that investigates and prosecutes individuals who use the internet to entice or exploit children (anyone under 18 years of age). Davis County Sheriff’s Office works closely with local, state, federal, and international agencies to protect the rights of the victims.
