Latent TB Infection (LTBI) is a condition in which inactive TB bacteria are present in an individual, without causing disease. Infected individuals usually have a positive skin test, do not have symptoms, and are not contagious. Approximately 5-10% of infected persons who do not receive treatment for LTBI will go on to develop active disease at some time in their lives.
