Smoking and Vaping in Outdoor Public Places Regulation

In Davis County the Board of Health has put in place the Smoking and Vaping in Outdoor Public Places Regulation. The purpose of the regulation is to protect public health and the general welfare by protecting
the public from unwanted secondhand smoke and vapor. The regulation is further intended to help reduce smoking rates in the community.

In the regulation smoking and vaping is prohibited in publicly and privately owned outdoor public places including, but not limited to: 
  • parks
  • playgrounds
  • sports fields
  • amusement parks
  • swimming pools
  • bleachers
  • cemeteries
  • outdoor eating areas
  • walking/running trails
Smoking and vaping is also prohibited within 25 feet of outdoor places of incidental public gatherings including, but not limited to:
  • ATM's
  • bank teller windows
  • bus stops
  • fast food lines
  • restroom facilities
  • train stations
*No Smoking/Vaping signs should be clearly posted in every Outdoor Public Place, and police officers and any city code enforcement officer may enforce this regulation
