| Introduction of Tanya Perkins New Director for the Children’s Justice Center | Chairman Downs introduced Tanya Perkins as the new director for the Children’s Justice Center. She stated that she has been at the Children’s Justice Center for 14 years as the Victims Services Coordinator and has provided services to approximately 4,000 families during that time. Troy Rawlings, Davis County Attorney, stated there was a very good applicant pool. Tanya was selected as the most qualified and most experienced. She will be replacing Doug Miller who resigned to accept a regional position. We are very excited to have Tanya on board as the director and have high expectations. |
| New North Davis Senior Activity Center Open | Chairman Downs announced the North Davis Senior Activity Center opened at its new location yesterday at 42 S State Street, Clearfield. Lewis Garrett stated the place is bright, open, and there are many windows. A few amenities such as the lapidary equipment are not fully installed. It is anticipated the open house will be Thursday, April 14 at 1:30 pm. |

It is a payable of $42,987.00. Agreement #2011-55 for Public Works. It is a payable of $41,651.00 Agreement #2011-56 for I/M Tech Building. It is a payable of $39,023.00. Agreement #2011-57 Autumn Glow Senior Center. It is a payable of $42,875.00. Agreement #2011-58 for Golden Years Senior Center. It is a payable of $39,586.00. Agreement #2011-59 for Department of Motor Vehicles facility at Clark Lane. Marshall stated that the software installation as part of the project gives him control from one source and provides a document base of energy usage. An example of the control feature would be to have facilities switched to a cool down of heat from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm and stabilize from 11:00 pm through 5:00 am and then back on for work hours. Commissioner Millburn stated that the goal is to save dollars and the money for the improvements is from federal dollars. Commissioner Petroff made a motion to approve the six agreements for HVAC upgrades. Commissioner Millburn seconded the motion. All voted aye. | Change Order #2010-308B Reynolds Brothers, Inc. for Fencing Change | Kirk Schmalz, Davis County Public Works Director, presented change order #2010-308B with Reynolds Brothers, Inc. It is for a change to the fencing requirements for the 200 South Storm Drain/sediment basin improvements. Rather than black vinyl fence being installed the specifications were changed to chain link for a reduction to the contract of $9,713.00. Commissioner Millburn made a motion to approve. | | Kirk stated that he will be bringing a change order for a different project that will be an increase. Commissioner Petroff stated that many times with Public Works projects the professionals are unable to see all the situations that exist underground. We do appreciate their professional work. No project has exceeded the engineers estimate. Chairman Downs thanked Kirk for the good work with Flood Control. |
| Agreement #2011-63 UT Trailways to Provide Transportation for Great Salt Lake Bird Festival | Neka Roundy, Davis County Community and Economic Development Specialist, presented agreement #2011-63 with Utah Trailways to provide transportation during the Great Salt Lake Bird Festival. There are 58 trips offered. A favorite will be the “behind the gate trips”. The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources assists Davis County in a partnership for transportation which allows us to keep prices down. Neka stated the festival is a breakeven deal. Commissioner Petroff made a motion to approve. Commissioner Millburn seconded the motion. All voted aye. Document on file in the office of the Davis County Clerk/Auditor. |

| | Steve Rawlings, Davis County Clerk/Auditor, stated he would like to comment regarding budget changes. Capital projects such as buildings and Public works projects have contingency funds appropriated for possible change orders. A budget is approved and if a project goes over, the budget will have to have a budget change presented. Generally 5% is the contingency and nothing has exceeded the contingency. No commission comments. No public comments. |
