Communicable Disease & Epidemiology Division

The Communicable Disease & Epidemiology Division works with community partners to detect, control, and prevent communicable diseases in Davis County. This is accomplished through the programs and activities that are listed below.

STD/HIV Program

The STD/HIV program provides services to individuals infected with sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). STD testing, treatment and education is available.

Tuberculosis (TB) Control Program

The TB program is dedicated to the prevention, control, and elimination of TB disease. Learn more about testing, treatment, and prevention for TB.

Infectious Disease Program

Utah law requires that certain human diseases be reported to the local health department. The reporting comes from laboratories, physicians, clinics, and sometimes from citizens. Find information about reportable diseases and common infectious disease topics.

Find information about disease reporting, public health updates, treatment guidelines, etc.

Public Health Emergency Preparedness

The preparedness program works in conjunction with the state health department, local health departments and other partner agencies to create emergency response plans for infectious disease outbreaks, natural disasters, bioterrorism attacks, and other emergencies affecting public health. Epidemiology is involved in preventing and controlling the spread of communicable diseases by monitoring and establishing surveillance systems; determining the occurrence and severity of infectious diseases; and conducting timely investigations. Education & Prevention

Davis County Health Department is responsible for assuring a healthy, safe environment for all Davis County citizens. However, preventing the spread of disease starts with the individual and becoming educated is the first step. Find out about classes offered and other educational resources to prevent the spread of disease.

Emergency Medical Services

The EMS program offers services to assist agencies with employee testing and vaccination required by EMS law and OSHA standard. A baseline blood test for HIV and Hepatitis B and C is available, as well as the Hepatitis B Vaccine (a 3 dose series). Call (801) 525-5207 to schedule an appointment.
