Insect/Animal Related Disease Highlights

Insect/animal related diseases are those diseases transmitted by an animal or insect (i.e. ticks, mosquitoes, and fleas).  These do not occur often in Davis County. Most often, these diseases (like malaria and dengue fever) are typically acquired outside of the United States. Most of the cases reported in 2016 were acquired outside of Utah and the United States.

In 2016, there were seven cases of vectorborne/zoonotic diseases reported in Davis County.  Four of the cases of vectorborne/zoonotic disease were female and three were male and all of the cases were adults.
