Naloxone is an opioid overdose reversal drug carried by most emergency responders in Davis County.  Anyone can purchase Naloxone from a pharmacy in Utah without a prescription.  Loved ones of individuals who receive a prescription for opioids are encouraged to carry and learn how to use Naloxone. 
More Naloxone information 

If you suspect someone is overdosing, you should: 

  1. Immediately call 911
  2. Try to wake the person
  3. Check for breathing and pulse
  4. Administer naloxone
  5. Perform rescue breathing 
  6. Turn the person on their side
  7. Administer another dose of naloxone after 3 minutes if needed
  8. Wait until EMS arrives
